Trellissick House

Set above the Fal estuary Trellissick house and gardens are a great day out.  Why not meander through the beautiful gardens and woodland and explore the Iron Age fort and 18th Century quay.  Alternatively discover the history of the house and learn about the families that once called this place home.  The kitchen café offers light refreshments including cream teas.

King Harry Ferry

The King Harry Ferry is just 5 minutes away by car.  Established in 1888 it connects St Mawes and the Roseland Peninsula with Feock, Truro & Falmouth.  Why not take the ferry across to the stunning Roseland Peninsula where you can explore beautiful St Mawes and perhaps dine at the award winning restaurant The Idle Rocks.  The unspoilt fishing village of Gorran Haven is great for families and to enjoy fish & chips on the beach.

St Just in Rosland

The picture perfect church of St Just in Roseland sits perfectly by the water.  You an enjoy a lovely circular walk from the churchyard to St Mawes and returning along a permissive National Trust path.

Truro

The lovely cathedral city and Cornwall’s county town.  Only a stone’s throw away from Bridge Cottage where you can go to enjoy arts & culture, shopping and lovely walks around the Truro River.  The Hall for Cornwall wows audiences with dazzling west-end shows and popular music performers.

Coast to Coast Cycle Route

Fancy an adventure why not follow the Mineral Tramways coast to coast cycle trail from outside the front door.  The approximately 11 mile trail will take you from the south coast up to Portreath on the north, following the route of the old Mineral mine tramways. A perfect day out for adults and children alike.

BEACHES​

From the laidback and low-key Gyllyngvase Beach in Falmouth,  Porthcurnick Beach on the Roseland peninsula to Porthtowan, St Ives and Carbis Bay.  You can be at the beach within 20 minutes from Bridge Cottage.  There are so many to explore its more a case of how far you wish to go and the hustle and bustle you prefer. There are options for everyone.
